Emily Klingman
Mooresville High School - Theatre Arts
My name is Emily Klingman. I hail from Cary, NC. I am a graduate of East Carolina University with dual BFA degrees in Theatre Arts Education and Musical Theatre (summa cum laude). I have performed and worked professionally as an actor, director, costumer, and lighting designer. I have worked with Theatre Charlotte, Children's Theatre of Charlotte, Davidson Community Players, and Mooresville Community Children's Theatre for their Education Programs. This is my 15th year teaching.
I am on the board for the North Carolina Theatre Conference, a statewide service, leadership, and advocacy organization with a membership network dedicated to strengthening NC's vibrant theatre industry. Our year-round events and programs foster member collaboration and provide professional development and educational opportunities.
I am, also, the President for the North Carolina Theatre Arts Educators. The North Carolina Theatre Arts Educators is an organization, founded by theatre teachers, run by theatre teachers, dedicated to advancing the quality and scope of theatre education in North Carolina schools and meeting theatre teachers’ unique needs through professional development, networking, and advocacy.
I am a true believer in the importance of all arts in students' lives. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like to know how you can be involved in making our theatre program the best it can be
